For Immediate Release: SECONDLIFE’S FIRST “NON-PROFIT” MODELING AGENCY!

“We don’t like what we are seeing out there in SL as far as the modeling industry is concerned…actually we don’t like the way the entire fashion industry is being run, but we will start with helping the models finally get what they deserve…we want fairness...we want the models all over SL to be able to make money too, not just the agencies, designers, and retailers,” says Daeden Jessop, the owner, founder, and designer for “A Dae of Elegance,” a new company in SecondLife that currently consists of two branches, a modeling agency branch, and a high-fashion clothing design and retail branch. This new upcoming company pledges to not only provide SL’s most realistic fashion shows and the most gorgeous "Super" models SL has to offer, but now also has added to their pledge that they will not take a single penny from their models. “We will tell the clients and models upfront what the prices are and what the pay is…no secrets, no games,” says Daeden.

The agency has also pledged to do its best to change they way models are treated in SL, as well as try to fix the broken SL fashion industry. Daeden says they have decided to lead the way in revolutionizing the SL Fashion industry one problem at a time. When Daeden, her partner KookaMonga Walpole, and Information Director Sofie Knoller looked into what models are being paid for their hard work, as well as what other agencies charge clients, they kept hitting brick walls. It seems no one wanted to talk about it.

"The consensus was that models all over SL are working basically for free or for just the clothes they are given to showcase. Some models are being told that working for free is normal, and that they should be thrilled about being able to keep the clothes as payment, and that it takes a long time before a model can make money in the industry; meanwhile everyone but the models are raking in the Lindens," said Daeden. A few models did report making a little actual money on occasion, and a couple of agencies do openly list their prices. However it soon became quite apparent that this wasn’t common. “We know what people are being paid out there in SL for the different jobs available, and we have decided it’s high time that fashion models get their fair share of the money being made in the fashion industry. And believe me, there is lots of money being made out there…we hope to set a new standard in the way things are done…I’d love to see all models begin to refuse to work for free, it would have a huge impact on the industry” says Daeden.

Daeden went on to spell out their new policy in a simple way, “For fashion shows, our clients will be charged $500 per model. For photo shoots, our clients will be charged $500 per model, per hour. The next and very unique part of their plegde is that our models will make $500 per show, and for photo shoots, our models will make $500 per hour. So basically the models make all the money.

This announcement will for sure have a huge impact on the industry; finally giving models a way to earn the money they so much deserve. You can expect big things from this new agency and look for this new paradigm to begin affecting a change all over SL. It’s time the SL fashion world sat up and took notice of this upcoming new leader in the fashion industry. They have turned over a few rocks, exposed some bad things, and there is no going back. Things will never be the same.
